About The MicroReader 3

Features:

  • Open software allows any brand of immunoassay to be used with the system.
  • System is optimized upon power up as it runs self-diagnostic tests to ensure its internal optics and mechanisms plus software are operating at optimal levels.
  • Easy to operate. A dialogue of straightforward prompts guide the user through the programming and operating processes.
  • Removable software cartridge, instead of EPROM based, stores twenty custom test protocols plus allows system to be upgraded easily as new applications become available.

Memory capacity may be increased to individual preferences simply by using additional software cartridges which are available at minimal costs.

  • Automatically transports single or double microwell strips. Also accepts NUNC or break-away microwells when using the respective microwell strip adapters (optional).
  • Built-in alphanumeric and graphic printer provides high-quality hardcopy of test results, test parameters and curves.
  • Standard software calculates absorbance, single-point concentration, concentration curves (using multiple standards) and qualitative (cutoff) tests.
  • Optional software allows calculation of delta-absorbance (end-point) and coagulation.
  • Offers comprehensive curve-fitting interpolation techniques, including:

Choice of four algorithms: point-to-point, regression line, polynomial (degree user-definable) and cubic spline.

Choice of three axis-transforms: linear, logarithmic and logit.

  • Offers extensive programming options for qualitative test procedure, such as: the cut-off equation itself, sequence of controls, multiple check-equations for controls, discard options for controls, and grey zones.

Flags (grey zones) may also be programmed for quantitative tests.

  • A Concentration curve may be created manually or automatically. The MicroReader 3 creates a curve, with known concentrations, automatically by measuring the standards in the strip rather than the user entering them manually.
  • A curve may be updated as the test is run. The user may select the newly created curve or maintain the original one from memory. This provides a quick and convenient method of verifying the standards, from time to time, as required by many reagent manufacturers.
  • System is equipped with six filters, instead of only four, as follows: 405nm, 450nm, 490nm, 540nm, 630nm and 650nm. Other filters, between 400nm and 700nm, are available by special order.
  • Performs monochromatic and bichromatic optical readings, user-selectable.
  • RS-232 Serial Port allows the MicroReader 3 to be interfaced to a computer. Results are exported to the computer, one by one, as they are measured. Requires optional Software Wedge Program also available from Hyperion.
  • Programmed tests may be edited or recalled for immediate use at any time
  • Two line LCD Display and self-explanatory keypad facilitate data entry, test selection and editing procedures.
  • Ideal for labs who have small to medium sample work loads and require sophisticated data-reduction but cannot justify the costs of a full plate reader.
Applications
  • EIA Assays
  • ELISA Assays
  • Other Immunoassays
  • Allergenic Assays
  • Infectious Disease Assays
  • Veterinary Applications
  • Environmental Assays
  • Other Industrial/Agricultural Applications
  • Coagulation Applications (optional)
